Each vessel begins as a humble pinch pot. Creation is a slow ritual filled with a quiet kind of intimacy, from the first handful of clay to the final glaze firing, my hands are forming, shaping, and touching. They embed a subtle texture of my literal finger marks across each piece's surface. The clay is porcelain, strong and meant to endure.
are simple gifts from a slower time: my hands, a sea sponge, a bucket of plain water, a wooden rib, a fettling knife, a serrated rib, a rolling pin, a mallot, and some brushes.
I am ever mindful of form, size, weight to suit the function I'm aiming for, all in relation to the humn body and the domestic space. The plates I design must be light, easy to pull from the cabinet, yet strong and durble to withstand everyday use. The cups I form must feel good in your hand, both in shape, and texture.
these ends, I choose to create in porcelain for the way it combines equisite qualities of elegance and strength while simultaneously challenging (and sometimes humbling() me. I find porcelain to be singular in the way it infuses a texture or curve with spontaneity and freshness that is not so much described as it is felt.
it is a tangible, modern artifact infused with a passion for simplicity and elegant beauty. Its shape and surface are minimalist, leaving space to honor and elevate your home with thoughtful intention.
